Postsocialist Fieldwork Stories

Postsocialist fieldwork stories is a platform featuring revisited fieldwork materials gathered on Eastern and Central European research topics from the 1970s onwards, engaging other areas worldwide theoretically and methodologically, but also moving the boundaries of anthropology towards artistic experimentation. After 1989, post-socialist countries faced macro political and economic changes as well as wild transitions from public to private, leaving people behind. The essays on this platform are about people trying to find their place and identity in post-socialist societies, and about their re-encounter with the ethnographer.
